Radiation Plume and Alternatives to Iodine
I would be remiss is I didn’t let you know that I have a great source with plenty of product for your needs. Dream Myst has always recommended Amazon Herb products because the essence of the plant’s spirit remains due to the way these herbs are harvested. To keep my body healthy I use Amazon Herb nutritional supplements, which have never been radiated or fumigated, and are as pure as the day they were harvested. I suggest stocking up on Aquazon to have on hand.
Government officials are saying risk of radiation exposure is low from the nuclear reactor catastrophe in Japan, US citizens aren’t buying it. Instead, they are buying foods, nutritional supplements and natural medicines to counter the effects of radiation, to the point where these products are out of stock in many stores throughout the West. Even the kelp and much of the other green foods supplements are either selling out or gone. Where there is iodine and kelp the problem has been price gouging both on the internet and in the stores. Potassium iodide is flying off the shelves in the feverish rush to buy iodine and iodide.
I am concerned about people overdosing on iodine and iodide. Some of the signs of overdose are burning of the mouth, esophagus, and stomach, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and/or a weak pulse. According to iodine research by Dr. Guy Abraham and Dr. David Brownstein, as many as 96% of Americans are extremely deficient in iodine. The body does not produce iodine and table salt with iodine does NOT have enough iodine to be effective but the ocean is a rich source of foods filled with iodine.
I am closer to 60 than I am to 40 so a super dose of iodine is not recommended as a radiation exposure alternative. For nine years now, I have used Aquazon on a daily basis. It feeds my thyroid, helps to eliminate menopause weight gain, and stimulates my immune system. Aquazon has both Fucus brown algae (seaweed) a natural source of iodine, and blue green algae a Fresh Water Algae from Klamath Falls in Oregon. It is safe for babies, children, and pets. Plus, it is easy to take and safe to use every day.
To prevent normal radiation poisoning on a regular basis, I recommend sea vegetables or marine vegetables as they have the highest iodine content.
So what are sea vegetables? Sea vegetables are the most ancient life forms on earth. Marine algae (seaweed) is a vast source of nutritious food with high amounts of phosphorous and calcium, extremely high in magnesium, iron, iodine and sodium. seaweed has the ability to remove radioactive strontium and other heavy metals from the body.
Non-granulated brown seaweeds such as kelp have alginic acid, which binds with the toxins in the intestines and carries these toxins out of the body.
Seaweed is fat-free, low calorie and the richest source of minerals due to the minerals found in the ocean.
Kelp would be at the top of my list because it has the highest iodine content. Kelp, dried Dulse (Irish Moss), Watase, Nori, Kombu and Sea Spaghetti are great to use as well. I love Nori, they come in sheets and are used to make Sushi, but I prefer to eat a dried, crisp sheet of Nori instead of a handful of potato chips. Try a roasted Nori sheet, fill with cheese or veggies and wrap it up for a yummy treat.
A ¼ teaspoon of Organic Kelp Granules can provide 3mg of iodine. To use this all you need to do is sprinkle it on your food. It is actually a natural alternative to salt, and is a superfood source very high in many other trace minerals. Try it on soups, salads, rice, stir-frys and popcorn.
Eat miso soup and if you want, add some sea vegetables for safe levels of bio-available iodide, take an antioxidant (I highly recommend Sangre De Drago) every day to get and stay healthy.
A treasure trove of information about sea vegetables can be found on the internet. I was amazed at the different types of seaweed available to us.
